Hop Butcher Run to Daylight Review

100/100

Review: Hop Butcher Run to Daylight

As a lover and critic of India Pale Ales (IPAs), it brings me great joy to introduce you to the beer that has shed a new light on my palate; Hop Butcher Run to Daylight. The verdict is out, and it’s a raving, triumphant 100/100 score that this little pillar of excellence has managed to score in my review palette. This gem is unequivocally one of the best IPAs I’ve ever had the privilege of tasting.

Aroma: Full marks (12/12)

As soon as I cracked open the can, the aroma–let me tell you–it was simply divine. It’s almost as if you’re standing in an orchard loaded with the ripest of oranges. The smells of freshly squeezed OJ are not just inviting, they’re intoxicating. The potency may be overwhelming to some, but for the citrus lovers among us, it’s perfectly one-dimensional. You’re hit by a refreshing, juicy scent, that’s neither too sweet nor too tart. The multi-tonal aroma of this triple India pale ale ensures that it doesn’t seem synthetic or artificial. It’s a fresh burst of pulpy, vibrant goodness.

Appearance: Sleek (3/3)

When you pour the Hop Butcher Run to Daylight into a glass, the visual allure of it is undeniably enticing. It’s a tantalizing, pale amber colour that simply glows, creating a visual treat for the eyes before it even touches your tongue.

Flavor: Explosion (20/20)

A take on the flavor, this brew is complex yet straightforward—much like an Orange Julius. The honey brew, coupled with Citra, Simcoe, Strata, and Galaxy hops, ensure an explosion of tastes that leaves your senses tingling. Orange dominates the flavor, which is perfectly complemented by a hint of honey. The hand of the alcohol is present but in no way overwhelming or off-putting. Upfront there’s a manageable sweetness supporting the fruity zing, and a moderate bitterness that keeps the balance just right.

Mouthfeel: Just Right (5/5)

Sip after sip the drink is smooth and full-bodied. Its moderate sweetness and a perfect whiff of bitterness combine to deliver a clean, abrupt finish. Be warned though—this one is not for pint-after-pint gulping. It’s the kind of brew that you’d want to sit down and savor; because once you’ve had a few, walking might become a difficult task.

The Final Verdict

“Run to Daylight” lives up to the inspiration drawn from its name—it’s bright, it’s refreshing and it’s certain to make your day. Down to the last sip, it keeps you hooked. For all IPAs lovers and enthusiasts, this brew by Hop Butcher is truly ‘run to daylight’—a blissful and exhilarating beer-venture.
