Lone Pine Brewing Dark Truce (Cherries) Review

As a craft beer enthusiast, I don’t take my pints lightly. From the aroma to the aftertaste, each element of a brew contributes to its overall quality. Having recently sampled the Lone Pine Brewing Dark Truce (Cherries), I found myself pleasantly surprised and impressed. This beer offers an exquisite balance between sweet and tart, crisp yet smooth, reliably satisfying on multiple fronts. As a result, I feel it well-deserves a score of 96 out of 100.

Aroma – 11

Personally, the aromas that a brew exhales are like an enticing preview of what’s to come, and in this case, it scored an 11. There’s a very well-toned acidity in the aroma, perfectly balanced. The subtle notes of grapes and cherries complement the low toasty, biscuit malt quite perfectly, stimulating my olfactory senses just right. As the beer warmed up, these cherry notes became more assertive, intertwined with light Brett leather and a whiff of funkiness. To top it all off, the slight whiff of cherries further triggered curiosity and anticipation.

Appearance – 3

Regarding appearance, the beer presents a regal imperial brown-ale shade, a sight that spells promise for the palate. It’s not without reason that they say the first sip is taken with the eyes – and this brew is an example of why. The dark, brooding quality is striking and yet inviting, like a mystery waiting to be unraveled.

Flavor – 20

The true gem of this brew, without a doubt, is the flavor, expertly crafted to earn an outstanding 20. The flavors of sweet cherry make a delightful entry, smoothly ushered in by a complex oak backdrop. As hinted by the aroma, it’s the cherries that strike the taste buds more significantly in the sip. The blend of rustic, warm, and subtly sweet nuances set against this fruity tartness creates a mélange of flavors that’s truly a delight.

Mouthfeel – 4

The mouthfeel is another critical aspect, and again, the Dark Truce scores high with a 4. A toothy body gives this beverage a structured feel, laying a great foundation for the acidity. The moderately tart finish is a perfect finale to this sensory journey, leaving the palate refreshed and ready for the next sip.

To sum it up, the Lone Pine Brewing Dark Truce (Cherries) is a masterfully brewed beer that tantalizes your senses, satiating them as it leaves a longing for more. So, if you’re in search of a brew that will delightfully surprise you, consider giving this excellent option a try.

  1. , the fruitiness intensified in the aroma, a lovely development that ended the sniffing journey.

    Appearance – 10

Lone Pine is known for churning out consistently appealing, golden, bubbly beers that stand out visually. Dark Truce (Cherries) is no exception, distinguished by its ruby-red color, translucent hue, and a beautiful sugary feel that gives the otherwise simple label a high quality. The head however runs a little too quickly, leaving little lacing. Not that I was in the mood to judge too harshly at that point.

    Taste – 38

Taste went down smooth, the cherries make sense, they’re an exemplary way to balance three tastes: sweet, tart, and sour. If the taste and aroma waltz together, it transforms the experience of drinking this beer into something extra-special and memorable.

    Finish – 9

To kill the joys of this beer-bowls, the aftertaste of biscuits is replaced by a subtle stone fruit flavor. The sourness in the finish barely registers, meaning that the cherries still come out as the winners here. Not much lacing though, but hey, I’m not going to judge by a superficial aspect, such as lacing on a glass.

To sum it up, the Lone Pine Brewing Dark Truce (Cherries) is a beer that ticks all the boxes for me – honest, simple, gratifying. From aroma to finish, each sip was pure bliss, and I’d highly recommend giving it a try. Cheers!

I couldn’t have said it better myself! Dark Truce (Cherries) is definitely a top-notch beer that I highly recommend. Cheers!

  2. Up, the aroma evolved into something caramel-like and sweet because of the addition of fruit.

Overall, a solidly well-defined aroma that is not unique, but pleasantly evocative.

    **Burp!”

The addition of cherries in this Lone Pine Brewing Dark Truce elevates the flavor profile and adds a unique twist to the classic stout. The balance between sweet and tart makes this beer enjoyable and easy to drink. Definitely one of my top picks!

  3. Up, I took a few deep breaths and let my nose roam around the aromas, and it was very pleasing.

    Taste – 27

The taste resonated with, to some extent, lounging under a bower of cherry trees on a warm summer day with a bottle of beer. It was an excellent combination of sweet and tart cherry flavors, bursting with a slight acidity, enhancing the fruity taste. It was like drinking a cherry soda, but with that extra kick of an alcohol percentage. Just perfectly balanced. The malt biscuit blended in beautifully as the sweetness gradually tapered off. It left my taste buds wanting more, although in a pleasant way.

    Feel – 25

A fantastic blend of fullness and lightness, the perfect amount of carbonation tickling my tongue and throat. As the beer warmed up, it became smoother, elevating my taste buds to greater heights. The combination of fruity cherries and toasty malt left a lingering mouthfeel. It was refreshing, tangy, and well-rounded.

    Overall – 33

Bringing my ratings for the Aroma (11), Taste (27), and the Feel (25), the Dark Truce (Cherries) scored a great overall score of 33. Reflecting on it, I’d say this is one brew that Lone Pine Brewing company can be proud of. With its perfect balance and tantalizing blend of flavors, this brew is well worth a try for all craft beer lovers, myself being one of them. If you get your hands on this one, keep it in the fridge for a while to chill, and when it warms up, you will experience an adventure, much like drinking two different glasses of beer. Unbelievable!

Overall a fantastic brew, and I’d recommend it to anyone and everyone! Cheers!

  4. , the dark cherry scent became pleasantly richer, taking me back to sweet summer memories picking wild cherries by the river near my hometown.

    Appearance – 10

Dark, I mean really dark, is my thing when it comes to beer (It’s impolite to ask someone their FAV BEER)== ‘😜’). Falling somewhere imbetween deep mahogany and chocolate caramel, its color is quite alluring. Attractive head, that wasn’t particularly thick but still solid. Mostly because it took its time dissolving, but let me tell you, it was worth the wait. I’m torn between drinking it or just staring at this.

    Taste – 12

This beer takes drinkability to another level. The tartness of the cherries is perfectly in sync with the sweetness, making for a refreshing yet balanced flavor. The biscuity and toasty malt flavors add a rich depth to each sip. And the best part? The cherries don’t overpower the beer, but instead enhance its overall taste. It’s like a summer picnic in every sip.

    Texture – 10

Smooth, velvety, and light-bodied – this beer has a texture that can transport you to a summery backyard party with just a sip. The carbonation is just right, making it easy to drink without feeling bloated. And the finish? Clean and satisfying, leaving you wanting for more.

As a whole, the Lone Pine Brewing Dark Truce (Cherries) is a standout beer that I highly recommend to all my beer-loving friends. Its balanced blend of flavors, enticing aroma, and smooth texture make it a must-try for any craft beer enthusiast. It’s no surprise that it scored a solid 96 out of 100 – definitely one of my new favorites!
