Review of Rural Places Beer by Devil’s Club Brewing

Our Score: 91/100

Welcome to Devil’s Club Brewing Review

First off, let me just say, if you haven’t yet visited Devil’s Club Brewing, you’re really missing out. This charming brewery produces some stunningly unique, sinfully delightful beers that are simply too good to pass up. Today, I’ll be focusing on one of their particular brews – “Friends in Rural Places”.

The Distinct Aroma – 10/10

Discovering the even blend of raw wheat, cherries, and wild yeast upon first impact is nothing short of enchanting. The brewers over at Devil’s Club Brewing have certainly put in a tremendous amount of effort to create this characterful aroma. This enigmatic scent is not unlike a familiar jelly sandwich, providing nostalgic comfort along with the intrigue of something never encountered before. Although somewhat muted, the aroma sets an interesting stage for the incoming flavour bomb.

The Mesmerizing Appearance – 3/3

Visual appeal is a crucial aspect of any alcoholic beverage, and let’s just say, Friends in Rural Places certainly delivers in this respect. The telltale blush of cherry infused into its appearance is as pleasing as a sunset and nearly as captivating.

The Robust Flavor – 18/18

Quite frankly, I was blown away by how beautifully the flavour profile has been structured. Once the brew makes contact with the palate, a wave of clean, intense sourness engulfs the senses. It’s a bit of a rollercoaster taste experience, with the cherry undertone coming through subtly at first but slowly building a powerful presence. An unexpected but pleasant twist is the slight licorice aftertaste, which offers a remarkable depth to the overall flavour scheme.

The Satisfying Mouthfeel – 5/5

As you sip on this brew, you can’t ignore the body and viscosity. We can consider it weightier than your average beer, primarily due to its raw wheat base. It carries a creamy, vinous texture, reminiscent of a yeast-forward natural wine. This mouthfeel does wonders in complementing the robust sour cherry flavour and the surprising licorice backnote perfectly, creating a harmonious, pleasing sensation.

Editor’s Notes

Drawing some remarkable parallels with the wine world, this innovative beer showcases an ‘on lees’ character rarely found in beers. This addition contributes to the earthy apple-cider touch in the flavour, which cuts through and balances the sharp acidity well. Although having a thinner body than expected, it still has a pleasant tang and doesn’t detract from the overall drinking experience.

Summing Up

In the cosmos of beers, Devil’s Club Brewing’s “Friends in Rural Places” is nothing short of a supernova. This brew’s unique aroma, the eye-catching appearance, the complex flavour profile and the satisfying mouthfeel together offer a memorable drinking experience.

What’s the Final Score?

In conclusion, I’m all in for “Friends in Rural Places” and I’m giving it an overall score of 91 out of 100. Devil’s Club Brewing earns applause for this wonderful craft beer that fits comfortably in rural places yet resonates with cosmopolitan palates.

To Wrap It Up

There’s a lot to love about “Friends in Rural Places”. Whether you’re a seasoned beer enthusiast or a curious beginner, I strongly recommend giving this exceptional brew a try – I promise, you won’t be disappointed

  1. Ntense cherry rolls in effortlessly, braced by only just enough carbonation to allow a trace resemblance to its beer roots.

    Final Score: 91/100

Overall, Devil’s Club Brewing has truly outdone themselves with this one. With a perfect balance of aroma, appearance, and flavor, Friends in Rural Places is definitely a must-try for any beer lover. Highly recommended!

  2. Nterweaving flavours arises, displaying the exact same characteristics as the aroma. Raw wheat and cherries ride on a firm, complex yeast backbone, so it’s almost as if raw cherries were ground up finely, with wheat-based crackers and small amounts of clove introduced into the mix. Far be it from just an old style beer, this is accompanied by endless spanning characteristics from several previous Saison brews.

    The Mouthfeel – 5/5

Outstanding. None can pull off so smooth and calming an edged ale as this. While not creamier nor harsh, this engulfs the entire mouth food-style, holding the tongue in its loving embrace. Wow, just wow.

    The Overall Experience – 9/9

In case you couldn’t tell, I was blown away by this brew. From start to finish, every aspect of Friends in Rural Places was top-notch. Devil’s Club Brewing has truly created something special with this one and I highly recommend giving it a try. Overall, I would give this beer a score of 91/100. Bravo Devil’s Club Brewing, bravo.

  3. Lluminating wheat emanates from the glass. The grassy, pseudo-sweet yeast begins offering an interesting contrast of sweetness, sadly, a bit too quickly silenced by the bright sour cherry flaunting an impressive natural, tangy flavour. The second sip was a definite change of pace; the flavours became even more pronounced, offering an explosion of tart cherries that were a bewitching match for the well-isolated yeast. A smidgeon of lactic acid provided such an enjoyable tangy complexity which was further improved by the dominant wheat-y overtones.

    Our Score: 91/100

Friends in Rural Places definitely earns its high score in our books. Devil’s Club Brewing has truly outdone themselves with this deliciously unique and well-crafted brew. From the mesmerizing aroma to the robust and complementary flavor combination, this beer is a must-try for any beer enthusiast. So next time you find yourself at Devil’s Club Brewing, make sure to give Friends in Rural Places a try – you won’t regret it!
