Review: Roaring Table Brewing Whirlycaster

I have recently had the pleasure of tasting a beer that truly rivals some of the best. Roaring Table Brewing’s Whirlycaster achieved a not-too-shabby score of 95 out of 100, with components such as aroma, appearance, flavor, and mouthfeel all being noteworthy. Let me break it down for you.

Aroma: 12/20

Starting off with the aroma of this brew, it scored a 12. There’s something wholly captivating about it. The beer possesses an intense cooked-berry aroma, that marries beautifully with spicy-floral hops. Then, added into the mix, is this intriguing mineral background. However, the true delight sits with the unexpected – the somewhat ethereal rose hips. They elevate the aroma into another dimension altogether. I found this aroma to be appealing, and it always kept me coming back for another sniff.

Appearance: 3/5

The appearance is just as impressive, scoring a solid 3 out of 5. The beer pours a beautiful color in the glass, hinting at the robust flavors that lie in wait and inviting the drinker in with its beautiful transparency.

Flavor: 19/25

Moving on to the flavor, where the Whirlycaster scored a convincing 19 out of 25. At first sip, the beer carries jammy berry notes that enlivens the palate. This develops into vivacious textures of lemon and rose, a stimulating blossoming experience difficult to describe. The magic doesn’t stop there. The stunning finish hints at sweet pie filling, masterfully counterbalanced by a cut of acidity. This divine drop provides an unrivalled tasting experience that will keep you coming back for more.

Mouthfeel: 4/5

And finally, the mouthfeel isn’t to be dismissed, scoring an impressive 4 out of 5. Coating the mouth beautifully, it has a smooth, medium body. The mouthfeel complements the beer’s rich flavors, facilitating an all-around pleasant drinking experience.

Final Thoughts:

As confirmed by the brewers, the Whirlycaster is fermented with Lactobacillus plantarum and kveik. This makes it not just entertainingly complex, but unique in its flavour profile. The richness of the raspberry-syrup nose intermingles with hints of herbal from the judicious hops, ensuring this brew isn’t your average beverage. There’s an enticing herbal-berry swing to it, and despite its significant sweetness up front, the herbal element actually dries the finish beautifully.

In conclusion, Whirlycaster is a masterfully brewed beer that pushes boundaries and defies expectations. Not only would I recommend giving this a try, but I believe this brew has all the makings of a new favorite for any dedicated beer lover.

  1. Awny hues with a well-formed khaki sand head. Effervescing in the glass, the color alone was enough to make my mouth water.

    Flavor: 28/30

The flavor truly stands out, earning a whopping 28 points. The initial taste is deceiving, with just a hint of sweet pears and honey. Dare I say it reminded me of honeysuckle candy. As you continue to sip, the beer’s true character begins to emerge. Suddenly, you’re slapped in the face with an explosion of spiciness. Cumin seems to stand out most. Its presence is much more delicately woven in this flavor than some other beers I know, though. Overall, the flavor is deliciously balanced. I would rate it 10/10.

Roaring Table Brewing’s Whirlycaster is a fantastic example of what quality beer should be. It’s no surprise to me that it has managed to attain a score of 95 out of 100 – it certainly deserves it. So, if you see this brew in stores, I highly recommend giving it a try. Your taste buds will thank you.

This beer truly impressed me with its aroma, appearance, and flavor. It’s no wonder it scored a solid 95 out of 100 – it’s a must-try for any beer lover.

  2. He glass – a deep amber hue that is slightly hazy. The fluffy, off-white head lingers for just the right amount of time, giving off the first impression that this is going to be one tasty brew.

    Flavor: 30/35

The flavor was the true standout for me. With a near-perfect score of 30 out of 35, it’s clear this beer packs a punch. The bold flavors of the cooked berries and subtle floral notes hit the taste buds front and center, while the rose hips add a layer of complexity that I’ve never experienced before in a beer. The finish is smooth and balanced, making it dangerously easy to drink.

    Mouthfeel: 4/5

The mouthfeel is where this beer truly shines. With a score of 4 out of 5, the body is medium and lightly carbonated, making for an incredibly smooth and enjoyable drinking experience. It’s easy to see how this beer earned such a high overall score.

In conclusion, the Roaring Table Brewing Whirlycaster is one brew that should not be missed. With a score of 95 out of 100, it’s clear that this beer is top-notch in every category. Definitely a must-try for all beer lovers!
