Ohio Pint Day: Grab Your Glass on Sept. 26 at 180 Breweries

Annual Celebration of Art and Beer: Ohio Pint Day 2023

The Ohio Craft Brewers Association is stirring considerable excitement as it gears up for its fourth consecutive year of Ohio Pint Day on Tuesday, Sept. 26. One of the most popular events in Ohio’s thriving craft beer scene, this year’s celebration will see more than 180 participating breweries across the state showcasing this year’s limited edition, collectible pint glass in their taprooms.

Record Breaking Glassware Distribution

This year, approximately 17,000 Ohio Pint Day glasses will be available at participating breweries – an unprecedented number since the annual initiative began in 2020. The coveted collectible glass has consistently been in high demand, with many brewers reporting their supplies have run dry within mere hours of making the items available.

Bringing Together Craft Beer, Art and Community

“Craft beer and art both have the power to enrich our lives and bring people together,” remarked Ohio Craft Brewers Association Executive Director Mary MacDonald, encapsulating the spirit of Ohio Pint Day. “This event is about celebrating the union of art and beer, and recognizing the waves of positivity they bring into our local communities.”

A Unique Glass with a Unique Story

Every pint glass offered on Ohio Pint Day tells a different story. This year’s design was crafted by Amy Kollar Anderson after the Ohio Craft Brewers Association admired her impressive artwork at her Kettering-based brewery, Nowhere in Particular Cabinet of Curiosities. Referencing her design process, Kollar Anderson recounts how she envisioned a narrative integrating various aspects of her personal life, her city, and her love for mythical beings; a whimsical fusion that ultimately culminated in a stunning Victorian-style art piece.

A Host of Offers Await on Ohio Pint Day

Although supporting a great cause, craft beer enthusiasts visiting participating breweries on Ohio Pint Day can expect a multitude of offers. Whether it’s having their favorite beer poured into the limited edition glass, receiving the glass along with a crowler or growler purchase, or simply purchasing the glass by itself, there’s something for everyone. Moreover, breweries that are usually closed on Tuesdays will offer their unique glassware on the immediately ensuing business day.

A Win for the Art, the Brew, and the Association

In partnership with the breweries and glass manufacturer Boelter Beverage, the Ohio Craft Brewers Association will receive $1 from every glass sold. Proceeds will directly support the non-profit Ohio Craft Brewers Association in their ongoing work to champion Ohio’s independently-owned craft breweries. Even the Ohio On Tap brewery passport app will be partaking in the festivities: app users who submit a selfie with their Ohio Pint Day glass from Sept. 26 through Oct. 1 will receive a bonus passport stamp!
