1. Moon River Brewing Company, Georgia

History

Moon River Brewing Company was once a hotel that was built in 1821. It is known for its eerie history, ghost sightings and paranormal activity. The hotel was closed in 1864 due to yellow fever epidemic and was used as a makeshift hospital. There are rumors of ghostly apparitions in the basement, orbs in the upper floors, and bottles and furniture movement.

Beer

Their signature beer is the “Sloeber” which is a Belgium IPA.

2. The Old Idaho Penitentiary, Idaho

History

Old Idaho Penitentiary is a historic site and museum that once held some of America’s most notorious criminals like Raymond Snowden also known as The Rainmaker, who was executed for ordering the bombing of a family. It was also the site of a massive prison riot in 1971. It is believed that the ghosts of prisoners still linger in the cells and corridors.

There are no beers brewed here, but there are beer tastings that are held on the site.

3. Captain Tony’s Saloon, Florida

Captain Tony’s Saloon was once a morgue and a hanging gallows from 1865 until 1899 when the morgue was converted into a bar. It is said to be haunted by the ghosts of the hanged pirates and robbers, as well as the former owner, Captain Tony Tarracino.

Their signature beer is their “Captain Tony’s Pale Ale” which is a hoppy and crisp beer.

4. The Stanley Hotel, Colorado

The Stanley Hotel was the inspiration for Stephen King’s novel “The Shining”. It opened in 1909 and is known for its ghostly sightings. The ghost sightings are not just in one place, but throughout the hotel. Room 217 is where Stephen King stayed and is said to be the most haunted room in the hotel.

Their signature beer is their “Stanley Cascadian Dark Ale” which is a dark and roasty beer with piney and resinous hop notes.
