Review of Thirsty Monk Pub & Brewery

Thirsty Monk Pub & Brewery is a gem in downtown Asheville, recognised as one of the best beer bars in the world and popular for tapping over 1000 different beers a year. It’s also renowned for its impressive selection of Belgian beers. The establishment is ranked #1 for a large beer list in Asheville, which is definitely worth checking out!

Ambiance and Service

The pub offers a charming ambiance, especially in the uniquely decorated basement that houses the Belgian Bar. Although there might not be ample table service due to the high footfall, the staff are friendly and always multi-task efficiently. However, it’s often recommended to approach the bar and place your orders.

Drink and Food

Their vast selection of drinks ensures there’s something for everyone. The beer menu is considered top-notch with the availability of local and craft beers, and the cocktails are beautifully crafted, creating a worthwhile but a little time-consuming experience. Their house brews come highly recommended.

As for the food, the Fat Tire Pretzel Bites and smoked trout baguette stand out as some of the delicious items on the menu. “Pint of bacon” is a popular choice among groups, while the fish and chips are lauded as amazing. They also have deals like 2 tacos for $7 which is considered a great steal.

Overall Experience

Thirsty Monk Pub & Brewery remains a favourite of many, the place to go for an amazing variety of beers and some good food. With the huge beer selection, knowledgable bartenders, and the friendly vibe, the Monk is a watering hole worth visiting when you’re in Asheville. With the only slight drawback being the absence of TVs for sports enthusiasts, the Pub & Brewery is otherwise a perfect hangout spot for beer lovers and casual drinkers alike.
