Ohio Pint Day: Grab Your Glass on Sept. 26 at 180 Breweries

The Ohio Craft Brewers Association Gearing Up For its Fourth Annual Ohio Pint Day

If there’s anything that true brewers’ heart pumps for, it has to be the Ohio Craft Brewers Association’s Ohio Pint Day event. Mark your calendars for the much-anticipated event that will take place on Tuesday, Sep 26. On this day, over 180 breweries across The Buckeye State will open their taprooms to serve their industry-leading brews in the much sought after, limited-edition pint glass. What’s more, this event will double up as a fundraiser for the tireless advocates of the Ohio crafting industry.

The Demand for Ohio Pint Day Glasses

The Ohio Pint Day will lead to the production and distribution of approximately 17,000 collectible pint glasses at participating breweries. This is, by far, a record number since the inception of this annual event back in 2020. It’s no surprise that the demand for these Ohio Pint Day glasses has seen a consistent increase. Many breweries have even reported to have run out of their glassware stock within hours of making it available.

“Celebrating the Intersection of Art and Beer”

There seems to be a common thread connecting craft beer and art – their ability to foster camaraderie and enrich our lives. According to Ohio Craft Brewers Association Executive Director Mary MacDonald, “Ohio Pint Day is about celebrating the intersection of art and beer, and the positive effects of both in our communities.”

This Year’s Ohio Pint Day Glass

This year’s Ohio Pint Day Glass has been artistically designed by Amy Kollar Anderson. Her magnificent artwork that dons the walls of her brewery Nowhere in Particular Cabinet of Curiosities has certainly won her this impressive accolade. Anderson had the perfect combination of creativity and whimsy in mind while brainstorming ideas for the glass design. In her words, “I wanted something to represent my city and thought about our baseball team, the Dayton Dragons. I concluded that surrounding this lovely lady should be three hungry dragons begging for a sip!”

What to Expect on Ohio Pint Day

During Ohio Pint Day, breweries are anticipated to deliver a range of offers. Some breweries may sell the glass filled with the customer’s choice of beer. Others may include the glass with a crowler or growler purchase to-go. Others still, might sell the glass as a standalone item. Especially for the occasion, breweries that are not usually open on Tuesdays will adjust their schedules and open when they are usually closed.

How it benefits the Ohio Craft Brewers Association

In collaboration with the breweries and Boelter Beverage, the glass manufacturer, $1 from every glass will be donated to the Ohio Craft Brewers Association. This non-profit organization tirelessly represents and advocates for Ohio’s independently-owned craft breweries.
